This class will provide detailed explanations through practical examples and techniques that will give you a diagnostic advantage in your everyday work.
This is not just a theoretical class. You will learn how to interact with the engine control module and become fast and accurate when diagnosing driveability problems.
OBD-II is divided into 10 different modes. Understanding these modes is key to diagnosing with or without diagnostic trouble codes. Taking advantage of knowing how the engine control module performs and reports its testing is essential to reducing diagnostic time on problematic vehicles.
We will also cover the latest engine technologies and especially the way OBD-II processes information from sensors and then outputs diagnostic results. Special instructions will be given for the very useful MODE 6 (revised by SAE after 2008) which can predict upcoming component failures.
Given that OBD-II is capable of more effective diagnosis than brand software is, research has shown that vehicles repaired through OBD-II testing perform better and get better fuel mileage.
Also, programming a control module may be the only way to repair specific vehicle problems which is why J-2534 is so important to the future of aftermarket workshop repairs. Each section of this seminar begins with a discussion about operation and strategy.
Also AUSTBROKERS will be giving a presentation at lunch time about Insurance for Cyber Invasion of your Computer Systems.
